The organizational structure is composed of an Executive Board of Directors elected by direct votes from the membership. Elections are held every two years.
The Executive Board of Directors is divided into two groups:
Administrative Members: composed of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and an Operations Department. This group handles the administration of the Association.
Directors: These members are responsible for the direction of individual committees within the association.
Executive Board of Directors functions:
President – The President is responsible for the general management of the Association and leads the Executive Board of Directors meetings. The President must set the values and principles of the Association in every activity and act in the best interest of the association and its members. The President is the executive representative of the Association. The President is the only member of the Executive Board of Directors that is required to have a Venezuelan citizenship.
Vice-President – The Vice-President is responsible for communications between the members and the Board of Directors. The Vice-President will receive all the ideas and suggestions from the members. The Vice-President will assist the President and the Director of Operation. In the absence of the President, the Vice-President will assume the President’s responsibilities.
Treasurer – The Treasurer is responsible for managing the Associations accounts, value the investments, manage the assets, and prepare budgets and financial statements.
Director of Operations – The Director of Operations is responsible for the documenting of the official records of the Association (statutes, memorandums, minutes, change of address etc.). In case a President resigns or cannot complete his/her term, the Director of Operations must call an election within the first 14 days of the absence or resignation.
Cultural Director: The Cultural Director develops, organizes, and promotes Venezuelan cultural events and activities. He or she is responsible for the dance troupe “Pasos de Venezuela”, the Choral group, and for the organization and leading the committees created to accomplish the objectives of Culture.
Sport Director: The Sport Director develops, organizes, and promotes sport activities and events. Organizesand leads the committees created to accomplish the objectives of Sport.
Events and Fundraising Director: The Event and Fundraising Director develops, organizes, and promotes activities and social events to collect funds for the Association. Organizes and leads the committees created to accomplish the objectives of Events and Fundraising.
Immigrant Information Support Director: The Immigrant Information Support Director develops, organizes, promotes and publishes information for new immigrants and help new immigrants settle in Canada. Organizes and leads the committees created to accomplish the objectives of Immigrant Information Support.
IT Director: The IT Director develops, organizes, promotes and maintains the website. Organizes and leads the committees created to accomplish the objectives of IT.
Public Relationship Director: The Public Relationship Director develops, organizes, and promotes relationships between the Association and public and private entities. Organizes and leads the committees created to accomplish the objectives of Public Relationships.
